Laborer Job Description

 

The primary responsibilities of this position are:
1.  Building and repairing rail road tracks.
2.   Performing all tasks safely as directed by the supervisor/foreman and in a timely fashion.
3.  Cooperating fully with the supervisor/foreman of each job.
4.  Taking precautions to respect the safety of fellow employees.

 

Other important responsibilities of this position include:
1.  Wearing personal protective equipment at all times when working in areas where there is a possibility of injury and maintaining said equipment.
2.  Wearing suitable work clothes (you will be given direction on this matter).
3.  Making sure your face is clean shaven – no beards. Mustaches are acceptable as long as they are short and well-maintained. If you have long hair, it must be kept tied back. This is vital for safety purposes.
4.  Making sure you are properly trained on the use of any and all equipment you will be using.  Always be willing to ask questions if you don’t fully understand something or if you don’t feel comfortable about something.
         
In addition to the above, the responsibilities of this position include such other duties, tasks and activities as are customarily and traditionally associated with this position, or that may be assigned to this position from time to time.

This position is full time and will be incorporated with other job assignments.
